Lucky Tom

Luck Tom PettyI love Tom Petty, and I really like the TV show he was on, King of the Hill. Tom was the voice of “Lucky”, Hank Hill’s quirkily philosophical nephew in law.

One of Lucky’s most prominent traits was his goofy front teeth, as you can see in this image.

I am so sad that Tom Petty has died - just so sad. However, when I really think about it Tom was indeed lucky (as well as massively talented). He had an amazingly successful career. He had many Top 40 hits, won several Grammys, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, had a successful solo career, was in his own fabulous groups, and a supergroup. He got to finish his 40th anniversary tour last week at the Hollywood Bowl. Could anyone ask for more?

As a fan, I would have liked him to have another 20 years, but in light of all he had that seems perhaps a bit greedy. R.I.P. Tom.
